Chernivtsi IT Cluster, together with the IT Ukraine Association, joins the initiative introduced by the Association of Responsible Carriers NGO, aimed at banning the operation and use of Russian navigation services (2GIS, Navitel, Yandex, CityGuide, etc.) in Ukraine.
Until now, individual people are able to use Russian navigation services/mobile applications. At the same time, during navigation, these services collect GPS data of the user and continuously transmit data related to location, time and speed. These data are stored on the servers of companies that have Russian roots and can be used to harm the national security of Ukraine. So let's NOT support the enemy! Together we are fighting for the elimination of these services, analogues of which are in our friendly countries.
The Cluster joins the Association's appeal regarding the application of sanctions to the owners of Russian applications to the President of Ukraine, the Ermak-McFaul Sanctions Group and the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection. We urge all users not to delay and as soon as possible to remove from their smartphones hostile software, even before it becomes unavailable.
